Terhalle Group part of the ID4WIN pilot project

More than 130 participants attended the Remmers Window Forum at the end of March to witness the official launch of the ID4WIN pilot project, in which leading companies in the industry are using data interfaces to provide a visionary cloud solution for the digital product passport obligation that will apply from 2027.
The window construction division of the Terhalle Group was not only selected as one of two producers for ID4WIN (“The Digital Window”). “We were also allowed to produce the elements for the kick-off event in Löningen in coordination with the project partners,” reports Sales Manager Sven Cisewski.

These were a wooden window, a wooden window door and a wood-aluminum window with bottom light, “each equipped with a WAREMA sun protection system and painted with the biocide-free IW-130 surface from Remmers,” as Sven reports.
The pilot project, initiated by the host of the window forum in collaboration with BISS ID as the provider of the storage capacities, was also one of the main topics on stage – during the breaks, guests from the industry took the opportunity to access the data already stored on the Terhalle windows by scanning the QR code. These include all components from the scantlings, for example from Red Grandis, to the functional parts; but also the manufacturing processes, for example in the surface.

The manufacturers consolidate the suppliers’ data and also have the option of storing maintenance cycles for the window elements in the cloud, for example, in order to remain in continuous customer contact with the buyer in a different way than before. “The cloud solution and the digital product passport ensure transparency around our components and also provide us as a manufacturer with all the information we need to ensure the consistent quality of our products – that’s why it makes sense for the Terhalle Group to lead the way and help shape these opportunities for the industry and our customers,” the sales professional is convinced. In future, all windows will contain the QR code in the glass composite, applied by Arnold Glas as a further ID4WIN partner.
