Cradle to Cradle ♻️ Green Economy start-up center
… a lighthouse project in the truest sense of the word. We are building on the Frisian coast under the project motto “De Tokamen Tiet” – the approaching time. Preparations in our timber construction department were in full swing for our client, the Bremerhaven development company, before we were able to erect the first exterior wall elements alongside beech columns and beams 🌳 from the first building as the entrance to the sustainable Lune Delta industrial/commercial area south of Bremerhaven. For the approx. 40m x 40m first floor alone, 6 trucks 🚛 loads of beech and 8 swap bodies of cross laminated timber ceilings left our Ottenstein plant.
For the demanding weathering concept, we opted for freely nestable, 5 degree inclined emergency roofs, which, among other things, protect the moisture-sensitive beech. We work our way from support to support, which weigh up to 1.6 tons, wall by wall. Our exterior walls, clad with Superwood rhombus strips, are surrounded by a glass climate façade for weather/heat protection in accordance with the low-tech concept of the lead architects Partner und Partner Architektur from Berlin. Only the four 16m wide loggias protrude offset around each floor. The spacious atrium with its wide staircases not only allows light to enter via the glass tent roof, but also fresh air, which flows in through the louvre windows of the “roof lantern”. The alternative ventilation concept with louvre windows is supported by our green and PV-equipped flat roof. It remains exciting – we will keep you up to date…
